World Cheese Awards 2009 - Gran Canaria
The World Cheese Awards decided to hold their magnificent three day festival in warmer climates this year, taking over 2000 entrees abroad to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria.
This was just the second time in 21 years that the awards have ventured further than the British Isles, attracting attention from over 30 different countries.
Long Clawson Dairy were one of the many familiar and favourite companies to enter this year, giving a strong performance alongside foreign competition.
Having achieved 'The Isigny Ste Mère Trophy for Best PDO Blue Cheese for their fantastic Blue Stilton®, Long Clawson went on to recieve a further six more awards achieving a superb ninth place overall in the worlds largest cheese festival.
